Embrace Asynchronous Communication with Alignment Checks
One communication rule that has helped team coordination for me is the "assume asynchronous, confirm alignment" rule. We treat all non-urgent communication as asynchronous by default—messages, comments, and feedback can be read and responded to in a reasonable timeframe, not instantly. But when a decision or shared understanding is needed, we make sure to confirm alignment with a summary message, quick call, or written agreement.
